Parent FAQ

Common questions.

How much does it cost?

Junior fees for 2026 are $180 for Bear Cubs, $280 for U13–U17. This covers insurance, coaching, match fees and kit hire.

Do we need to buy a stick?

Not for Bear Cubs or your first season. The club has loan sticks for all new players. Most families buy their own after a term.

When and where is training?

Bear Cubs: Saturday 9am. U13: Wed 4pm. U15: Mon & Wed 4:30pm. U17: Tue & Thu 5pm. All sessions at Miller Reserve, Devereux Rd, Linden Park.

Is lacrosse safe?

Women's/girls lacrosse is non-contact. Men's/boys lacrosse is contact and requires helmet, gloves and pads (provided). Coaches are accredited and trained in injury prevention.

Can girls and boys play together?

Under 13 and Under 15 are mixed squads. Above U15 they split due to differences in rules and contact level.

What if my child has never played?

Perfect. Most of our juniors started at Burnside without ever having touched a stick. Come to a Saturday Come-and-Try.
